1) What are the main types, their advantages and limitations of different electrical connections?

2) What are the procedures for the connection of single and multiphase circuits?

3) What are the implications on the choice of connections with regard to permanent or temporary purposes?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Please help!! :)

crikey- just photcopy BS7671 and submit that as your answer !! we gonna have to break this down bud, whats the subject title under which the questions are asked ? Are we talking procedures for terminating electrical connections etc,? underpinning knowledge suggests you are on a remote learningpackage, in any case what course are you doing ?

Hi Jason

I'm doing a JTL NVQ Level three, these are underpinning knowledge questions for Unit Set 3/014 - Connect.

There are even more of these stupid f*in questions!! lol

I don't think the answers to the questions will be that long as there is only a small space to put them in.

It's all part of my log book for NVQ Level 3. It consists of three job reports and underpinning knowledge questions, under the headings of 'Prepare to install', 'Install', 'Connect', etc. These questions I'm asking are form the 'Connect' Unit if that helps?

Sorry stumas, ask your tutor for help if you need a exam style answer. But on site everyday/every cable connection varies.

1) and 3)might be something to do screw connections Vs soldered ones Vs crimped connections Vs push ones (as in the new maintenance free junction boxes).

2) could be to do with safe isolating procedure with single phase as compared to safe isolation with 3 phase and neutral (10 separate checks to make, L1 to L2 etc, etc)

You got most of us stumped mate, not for knowledge, as there are enough heads on here to answer anything. same as you, its the question thats the problem ! We could go into accessable or not junction boxes etc, Henly blocks, all involve electrical connections.
Get hold of your tutor and ask him about the question. Tell us what he/she says. They may even be on about the integrity of a conection, .ie screw it up and your looking at arcing, burnouts etc.may be correctly rated connectors,i.e 30 amp, 15 etc etc .
