it's the current capacity of cable/s as seen in tables in BS7671 and OSG. e.g. 2.5mm cable clipped direct. is 27A, less if in insulation. variuos intallation methods give here:

see OSG page 156 table F4(i),

there are several tables for different types of cable and the installation method used. get a copyof OSG , only £20.
