Started A job today, concrete ceilings, and was thinking of ways to get the cables from switch to pendant, and thought of chasing the plaster and artex of the ceilings, and glue gunning the cables up and bonding/plastering over, do you think this is do-able? Don't really want to trunk it, thanks

the absolute best way would be to fit 2 x 2 battens to the ceiling, then board it after the cables are in.

Are you going to deal with the asbestos in the artex before or after you chased the ceilings?

it was until around 1985. then they took it out and then the artex was pants.

What is the site like?
A posh house, where a chase across the ceiling would look like a bag of nails, or some South Yorkshire council flat where the occupants couldn't give a monkeys?

It's a crap flat in a nice area, but shallow ceilings, tried chasing into the concrete and went trough the ceiling, not great, so back to the drawing board

It's already been said, but...

Asbestos was prevalent in artex until approx 20 years ago. Get it professionally tested and removed if necessary. Then batten and board as per post #2. Don't disturb the artex in an way until you know what you're dealing with.

Edit: Actually, it may be 30 years.
