Just a thought. As a fully qualified spark, how do you feel about the DI ? I like everyone to make a living and all, but hell! I just ain't got no love for em.
On top of this, the consumer doesn't really understand part p and full scope, and will hire any of the two do to full scope work. Of course the 5 week man will take the work on. Not to say he'll bodge it in every instant, but would you promote that kind of approach ?
There's no point getting on your high horse thinking time served sparks deserve all the work. Domestic installers and short sparky courses are here to stay for now so, best advice is to shut and put up.Dimestic installer= plastic electrician
Wouldn't last 5 minutes but not really a good comparisoni wonder how the medical profession would react to surgeons carrying out operations after a 5 week course, or the legal profession react to Electrical Trainee barristers.

What sort of "full scope" work do you think a consumer will be hiring a part p registered person to do, that will be beyond their capabilities?
Two way switching with an intermediate switch!
well just hang about for a bit in here......wont be long before some horror show pics come in.....Righty o! Well I must say I haven't ever met or seen any work done by one! But read a lot on here about what they get up to.
well hasn`t it happened......Wouldn't last 5 minutes but not really a good comparison
Eh?....so does that mean were all supposed to `put up n shut up` with them just floating in after a few weeks `intensive training`?...lol...There's no point getting on your high horse thinking time served sparks deserve all the work. no it wont....caus the scams dont give a damn....There’s no need to love or hate the five week wonders. It's completely self policing. If their method of training is so much more superior than ours, then evolution will see to it that they succeed and if not it will all go horribly wrong for them.

A Domestic Installer is someone who knows how to install, test and maintain a pre-designed range of circuits appropriate to a domestic property. Can someone give me a definition of a domestic installer.

An Electrician is someone who understands how to design, install, test and maintain an electrical installation.
Correct. Electrics by numbers. "Brown wire goes here, blue wire goes here. Why? Don't worry about why."Aaahh right. So he doesn't have to know how and why it works then?

What is the point of this post other than to insult fellow electricians?
