Been doing some mock papers but got stuck on few questions that i even tried to google but they dont specifically dum down the qs/answer. anyway here are the questions i need help on. (Not trying to get you guys to do my homework or anything just some questions i need help on which i can't find out) (some qs are answered though and u can skip some questions if u dont know or dont want to answer them) TY FOR UR HELP ITS MUCH APPRECIATED!

a fluorescent luminaire containts a capacitor for power factor correction.
State how the capacitor is connected in relation to the supply?
answer =
State the effect on the supply current if the capacitor is removed?
answer =
State the effect on the operation of the luminaire if the capacitor is removed?
answer =
Explain how load balancing may be achieved in a three phase four wire supply?
answer =
Explain the effect load balancing has on the neutral current?
answer =

Identify the type of motor used in a 110v a.c. drill?
answer i put = universal motor

State how the direction of the rotation maybe required for the motor above?

Explain what is meant by power factor correction?
answer = Power Factor Correction is the process of maximizing
the efficiency of an electrical system to deliver the most possible power as active power

We're not here to do homework for you.

However, post up what you think could be the answers and I or others will point you in the right direction.

You are correct about the drill motor being a universal motor. The power factor correction is on the right lines but could be worded better.

Power factor - Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_factor
Did write the homework thing in the post alrdy but anyway I found some idk if theyre correct or on the right lines.

a fluorescent luminaire contains a capacitor for power factor correction.
State how the capacitor is connected in relation to the supply?
answer = Used for electromagentic interference (searched everywhere couldn't find anything relating to this question)

State the effect on the supply current if the capacitor is removed?
answer = The supply current will reduce

State the effect on the operation of the luminaire if the capacitor is removed?
answer =

Explain how load balancing may be achieved in a three phase four wire supply?
answer = three phase four wire system can be used as single phase by utilizing one phase and neutral. balance loads across each phase.

Explain the effect load balancing has on the neutral current?
answer =

Wasn't luminaires fitted with capacitors to improve the power factor so my guess would be without them they wouldnt be running to their full potential.

Probably totally wrong.
