Hi Guys,

Just a quick question.

I have just finished my 3330 lvl 3 c&g course and im planning to do my 17th next ( also 2391 & pat)
The question is, do i do the 17th update 2 day course or the full 5 day course?

Apart from being £250 approx. difference between the two, the other thing is that the update is only 1 day or 2 days.
We havent been useing the BS7671 as much as i would have hoped for, but i was told its just a case of looking in index and get a bit of practice looking things up in there, to pass the exam.
Was looking for any feedback on this, before i enroll in either.

Thanks!

Lee

It depends on how well you can use and understand the the book. Some people can just revise at home and just book the exam, others need tuition/refresher. Have a search for some 17th past papers (on here and the net) and see how well you do. Imo if you have your level 3 you should be able to do the 2 day course and pass with flying colours but that's up to your own abilities. Good luck whichever way you go.

What you'll have been taught will have been to the 17th edition. The update course is really for sparks who have done 16th edition and mainly covers the differences between previous regs and the 17th. If you are familiar with the layout of the regs book and can find required info quickly then you probably won't have too much trouble in passing with just the two day course. It's more of an exercise in being able to find information in the books than having the knowledge memorised, like most other courses.

May be worth finding out if the exam if taken in-between 01/07/11 and 01/01/12 will include the new amendments or if not wait to take the exam next year (or am I talking bobbins?).

Try some sample questions. If you can generally answer them within two minutes each, you are ready for the exam.
If you can find the answer but a bit slow in looking it up, then a bit of a refresher might help.
If you can't answer the questions, take the longer route.

ahh ok, thanks for the feedback all.
Ill try some sample questions and see how i get on with them.

I wasent aware of the amendments?
