Need some advice on gaining NVQ 3 i will be finishing my level 2 2330 in the next couple of mouths but because of the 2330 ending and the government withdrawing funding for adult students (course fees gone forum £1200 to £4000) i can’t do level 3.
I asked my college about me doing the NVQ3 and they said you can’t do the NVQ3 without 2330 level3. Does anyone know if there is any way i can get my NVQ3 without doing 2330 level 3

If it was possible transfer 2330 level 2 qualification over to the new 2357 its still going to cost me 4k+ and i wouldn’t think they will be run the level 3 this year.
The college that I’m at has told everyone over 19 who wants to starting the 2357 first year that there’s nothing they can do for them.

Thanks for the link.
I think July is the dead line for the nvq but once you’re on it you’ve got until 2012 to finish it. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Does any know can I start the 2356 with just 2330 level 2 ?

The way I see it mate, as you have enrolled and are part way through the course you should be able to follow it through to completion in all areas.

This is just another example of the government fiddling where they shouldn't.

Hi
Speak with this guy you can just do the NVQ LEVEL 3
Foundation Course for Domestic Electrical Installation | Delta Electrical Training Ltd

there is a lot of very unhappy people due to this messing about with the courses and the funding. i really feel for the guys that have gone all the way through l2 and now can`t do the l3

where abouts are you in the uk ? i do know a college that would be cheaper than your price pm me and i will see if i can help

all depends on funding personal status income kids etc. there may be an option for you gaining the nvq without the l3 in the 2330

hi i am coming to the end of my level 2 2330, and have just enrolled on my third year 2330 level 3. i am aware of a few colleges who are charging normal rates for the level 3 this year. so have a ring about!! i have also been told by two other colleges that will be offering the lv 3 2330 and also second year lv2 2330. when students finish finish there level 2 in june 2011 they will be merged into 2357 to complete there final year.
cheers

Hi Soulman what college are you at
forum what I understand this is a nationwide problem if you are over 19 you have to pay the full cost of the course which is about 4k.

i,m in the northeast. from what i have heard is no one really knows what happening yet. here is an extract from skills council website:

When do the existing qualifications end?
Awarding Organisations have extended the accreditation date of existing sector qualifications to 31st December 2010. However, it is expected that public funding for existing NQF qualifications will stop on 31st July 2010.
Top of page....
Will we be able to continue to offer the existing qualifications?
It is expected that registrations on existing qualifications will stop when an equivalent qualification is accredited on the QCF. Learners who are currently registered on existing qualifications will be allowed to complete the qualification, and centres will be able to access funding for this completion

They will be running 2330 L3 in September but if you’re over 19 its going to cost you.
They told us they can’t arrange funding before July 31 because their budget.

my level 3 course is £900. i paid £500 per year for my level 2. and some got it free. i was told that the level 3 is always more expensive because level 3 qualifications dont receive funding and everybody pays even those who got level 2 free.
did you get level 2 free?
£4000 is a bit over the top is that what your college is charging. private training providers do the course for about £3000
cheers

Not sure if it's what you're asking but Apprentices get them for free.

Ok im confused a bit here im 27 and i started my 2330 L2 last september at my local college and because i was unemployed i only had to pay a $15 Donation to the College instead of the $1050 course fee .so does that mean that i have to pay the full fee for the L3 ?

best thing to do is book to see someone at student services as unemployment has different funding options about.

hi sonnyjim, i rang around a few colleges up here today and all appear to be doing the level 3 2330 for normal price. so i think you should ring around a few colleges where you live to see if it is the same.
let me know how you get on.
cheers

HI
Also if you don't sit the 17th edition the JIB WILL REFUSE TO RE-NEW YOUR JIB CARD UNTIL YOU TAKE IT.

I think this is wrong.
