Discuss Building Transformer in explosion proof enclosure in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

thanks for everyone reply.

i had checked with my end user, they going to use this transformer in the ship not chemical room.

they wanted the transformer to be complete with explosion proof enclosure.

they worry about internal explosion.

sorry for my mistake previously.

Then just purchase a Zone 1 transformer mate.....................that's what their designed for:)

Just as a matter of interest are you protecting the transformer from the environment or the environment from the transformer if that makes sense.... basically are you wanting the transformer to withstand an explosion and carry on running or is it a potentially explosive environment.... or you just stopping potential injury if the transformer internally breaks down?
I posted a day ago had you included this info within your first post you would have got a quick useful answer in a couple of replies ....now im never going to get that lost time back ever

Same thing, you can't mount a dry transformer in an explosion-proof enclosure. It's still going to need a free or forced air flow for cooling purposes!!
