Hi every one need to move 5 internal meters to outside in cabenits we will be running swa back into property can we connect the swa single cores of the swa direct into the meter or is it best to join in junction box with tails and out of junction box with tails to meter bit confused on this thanks

I'd be wanting to connect into a switch fuse for the SWA (you'll need something to protect it). The DNO will have a limit on the length of the tails (usually 3M) that they will allow to be protected by there fuse. Assuming you're talking about 5 individual houses here with separate supplies.

Do you also need your own overcurrent

Terminate into this and tails from the meter

As the chaps have said 1, it sounds like you'll need additional overcurrent protection due to the length and 2, the DNO wont connect singularly insulated conductors into their meter.

they are mobile homes landloads supply we are going to install a switched fused isolator going to take supply into isolator out of this with tails to meter then not sure if regs alow single cores to go into load side of meter or will i be best joing them to tails thanks

They will need to be double insulated or enclosed by trunking or something
You could mount a section of metal trunking and mount the meter on top

You can get a type of heatshrink that conforms to double insulation, it's slightly thicker than the normal heatshrink sleeving and is XLPE, ( as is all electrical heatshrink sleeving) Not sure what brand name it goes under in the UK though... But isn't the stuff you use in the UK classified as ''sheathed single core'' that you use for exposed meter tails and not as such, double insulated??
