I am adding two additional 20A circuits to an upstairs bonus room. From the breaker box in the garage I can route the Romex up and across the garage ceiling with no problems. Once across the garage I need to route the 2 cables approximately 4' over to the point where I can punch thru the header board and into the upstairs wall I want the install the outlets. The ceiling is a 10' height. I will be difficult to drill a 3/4' hole in the two ceiling joists to get to that point and wondered if I could just route them along the top of the wall/ceiling interface for this 4'. At this height they would not have a damage potential from external sources which appears acceptable per the NEC. Any suggestions appreciated.

Sparkey7 welcome to the forum. Is your main panel in the garage or is it a subfed panel from the main panel any way if you can access your attic. If so run 3/4 PVC pipe on the outside of the house and install an LB and punch through there and you should be able to fish it through the wall. Me personally I would not run it with 4 feet exposed, they has to be another way. Good luck
