Hi all,

Just a quick question i have been offered a job with a company called Hycontrol, has anyone got any experience with level and pressure management products and silo protection products? i cant find out much about this kind of industry.

Ive been told it's quite a niche specialised industry, i will be on the installation team, i've been told it's mostly low voltage DC 24v systems.

Just hoping for some more information if anyone has ever worked or has knowledge of this industry.

cheers
Dean.

Sounds like Instrumentation there, Dean.
Get in there quick! :)

Look up keywords like calibration, 4-20mA loops ...
thanks for the reply, ye it is instrumentation etc.

why do you say get in there quick lol?

As in, grab it with both hands.
Beats being an electrician any day :D

is there much of this work about? is it something you have much experience in mate?

I'm out of the game these days, but I still get loads of emails asking for Instrument Techs, so there must be work out there.
I used to work on Chemical plants, shipyards and the like.
You might have to work away from home a lot, but if you're free and single ...

thanks again for the reply, here is a little sample of the job description

1. Installation of level measuring systems on various sites in quarry, chemical, process and waste treatment industries

2. Commissioning new equipment

silo protection systems

apparently working with mainly 24v dc, so is it a good trade to get into? i've recently finished my level 3 2365 city and guilds, this route is taking me away from the standard ''electrician'' route i had initially planned but these seems like an interesting opportunity, but i dont want to struggle finding work in the future as i was told there is only a couple of companies who specialise in this field etc.
