Hi there, have been asked by my plumber to wire a 2 port valve to an existing "y" plan, however this new radiator must be independent from the existing system, I need to find a way to wire the 2 port and new thermostat to the existing system so that the boiler can be switched by either but the new rad can be separate from the ret of the system so she can just have the one rad on.

Sorry if I have gone on a bit but trying to give as much info as poss

Cheers

Chris

A simple single channel time clock to operate the new valve and use the micro switch on the valve to switch the boiler ie one side to permanent live other side to switch line of boiler.
BUT
I am thinking this might cause problems with the three port valve. Water would flow throug the three port possibly overheating the tank if the single rad was calling for too long.
Far better to replace the three port with two two ports and also the valve for the single rad. Does this make sense? It does to me but then it's just come out of my head. :)
