I have a Panasonic bathroom light and fan. One of the two lights blu. I have now purchased 3 different replacement bulbs for the original Panasonic FQ13E35.U/2 bulb. None of the replacement bulbs work. They only flicker. There is nothing wrong with the fixture since I take the good original bulb and switch sockets and it lights like normal. Any suggestions Would be appreciated.

The bulb is a compact fluorescent type so there must be a ballast somewhere in the unit that's probably faulty

Thanks for the quick reply. I don’t think it’s a ballast. The fixture had 2 bulbs. When I take the good bulb that’s not blown and switch receptacles it lights. But when I put a replacement bulb in either receptacle it only flickers. It’s very weird. Have now trued 3 different replacement bulbs none of which is Panasonic brand.

How many pins did the original have and how many pins does the replacement have?

The 2 pin type is designed to work with an magnetic ballast whereas the 4 pin works with a electronic ballast.

How many ballasts dfoes the unit have? Does it have the old style starters like this one?
