Hi guys im going to invest in a Multifunction Tester. Dose anyone use a Metrel MI3000 Easi Plus Multifunction Tester? Ive also thought about the fluke 1651 also but the metrel seems like a better bit of kit for the money!
Any suggestions or thought please guys. :)

I use the metrel tester, its ok. The first one became faulty within a coupleof months, they ahd it in for repair for weeks on end (we di get a loan tester whilst it was away) eventually they replaced it for a new one. I've had no problems with it, it does exactly what you need it to do. You can test 3 phase stuff fine with it too.

hi all,

after a bit of advice on a tester i bought from ebay.

firstly bought it off there as just started out and didn't really have money to buy new.

The tester was listed as perfect working order but when i received it on the leads tip is clearly damaged by a short and the screen when you turn the backlight on one half of it is dimmer than the other side. I have messaged seller and said that i wanted some money back etc as not as described but got instead a load of insults that it passed his niceic blah blah blah. Have also sent pictures to him also!

I think i have a leg to stand and surely should get something back? as willing to keep it but want proper working leads etc.

Please can anyone advise.

Ebay dispute resolution service mate. Keep all correspondence as they'll want to see it. Do the same with paypal

That said, a new set of leads isn't going to be prohibitively expensive so depending on how much you paid for the MFT it might be worth sucking it up.

yh in process of doing that but not getting far the bloke is a bit of a tool! i have said ill keep it but i want a new red lead and have left him bad feedback! he he

Hi bristolsparky, I wish you well with your eBay dispute mate, but please refrain from hijacking an old thread (OP started this in 2009) particularly when it's of no relevance to the OP's original question. Next time do the correct thing and start a new thread focusing on your particular problem.

Ya we prefer the product according to two things first is price and second is quality. There are many integrated multifunctional tester available. But if you are asking between these two Metrel MI3000 is good one.
