O

Octopus

So my aged henry has given up the ghost....

do I just buy another or are there better products?

Thanks

PS: Looking to spend this evening:hammer:

Screw fix Titan 1300w single motor - so many good reviews for a simple vac and last week was £34.99.
I've got a an Edward, larger volume Henry but don't really want to start using it for chasing as it might hate me back (we've been through a lot together)!

Drop it on the bench give a clean up. Unless some windings on the motor got burned up then new set of carbon brushes may bring it back to life...
Mine had on/off switch failing recently due to dust, got (temporary :) sorted by a wago connector and some tape, it now works right when plugged in.

one of my many jobs was working in a vac shop... some of these wall chaser vacs are good but for the money you still can't
beat a Henry for all round use. I used mine yesterday to get drilled concrete pieces from a 2ft fence post hole (no bag, just
filter).

Stihl SE62,is a cracking bit of kit. A mile better, than the 61 it replaced, and both physically and electrically tough.

I purchased one,on line for £99,and although a lot of lads rate the Henry...you are still able to crayon a face on the front,if desired :prrr:

My Edward NVR 370 has been with me since the flea infestation of '96. Two house renovations later, covered in paint and frequently used as a 'hop up', I am ashamed to say that I still have to give the moulded plug a whack to get it going! Perhaps, now that I'm training, I should lead by example and fit a new BS1363 plug. Would be a shame though as its a 'thing' we have - makes him smile anyway, well what doesn't?

Have you boys with Henry's use this attached to a chasing machine? If so, does it work okay (my Karcher Wet & Dry vacuum is good for cleaning up normal debris, but blocks immediately when attached to my chaser)?

connect mine to wall chaser with dome ally tube and gaffer tape. not perfect but it gets about 90% of the dust. as for the 10%, can't have the woman of the house sitting on her pretty arse all day, can we?

Do all of the chasers have a grid in the exhaust hole to stop big bits going down the tube? This is most of the reason why our chasing isn't as dust less as it could be - I guess the only chaser you see is the one you have. I'm going to have to visit more tool shops - dangerous times!

Is it all to do with the filter bag you fit, the hepa bag for the Henry's - do they work as a fabric/felt bag would?

I've a Nilfisk Aero 25-21, done a lot attached to wall chaser and rip saw and still going strong 6 years on. If after something not too costly I'd recommend it highly. But the guys I bring in for wall chasing on new builds use hilti, it's bullet proof and given it probably spends 7-8 hours a day 5 days a week attached to a wall chaser, it still lets out next to no dust.

123, that is amazing and I believe it. Guess that you have to spend out for gear that has proven itself. Will hope for more empty properties so that you make as much mess as you like until I can afford the right equipment.

Haven't read all this thread but can I say Henry is the best hoover I've ever used. And after demolitions of bathrooms it'd even get up inch square tiles and Christ knows what else.

Pretty sure it would attach to some grinders I used too.

Go for the more powerful Henry's though as the new ones are energy efficient 580w Pah! Who needs that when you are suck in' dust!
I recently bought a second hand Harry that is the pet vac and has 1200 max watts. Hhr200a comes in green with a smiley! What I'm trying to say is if you buy one, buy a powerful one.
