NICEIC Certification Scheme NICEIC Schemes

Discuss NICEIC Schemes in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I joined napit from the nic and went straight to ac just have to show the knowledge to do the job and not mess up found naipt harder to get ac than nic

The subject of these schemes and which one has the biggest todger, ends up with the self status preservation hiding the reality of this industry and the advise on making a business decision

The Niceic AC scheme whether you or I like it or not is the only one that has the possibility of generating work for an enterprise

The ECA has this status to a lesser extent
The Niceic DI is a house bashing level
Elecsa is an ECA house bashing level
Napit was primarily an organisation where individuals and enterprises specialised in Test and inspection as the name suggests
Napit expands the housebashing level to include commercial and industrial, but they can expand it to include work on rocket ships for inter stella travel, but it makes no odds to the perception of who the commercial/industrial customers both large and small see has the organisation that lists suitable enterprises for that work

If you want possibility of inclusion on lists like Council specifiers and contracts of any reasonable size, then you need make a business decision as to whether to join the Niceic or not join them, the Eca/Elecsa/Napit is not a suitable alternative

Whether being an approved contractor with the Niceic makes for a guarantee of competence is a completely different argument

Little update on this, I emailed the NICEIC today explaining my situation (new company just started, will be mainly carrying out commercial/industrial works etc) and the reply I got was basically, so long as you have 5 varied jobs to show, doesn't matter how long been trading etc.
So in a nutshell, get 5 jobs under your belt, pay the big bucks then you're on.

Are NAPIT aware they have an AC scheme? As I understood it they just have membership and don't differentiate betwixt DI and AC?
