numbers on jbs

as title states really.
what are the numbers there for on some jbs? not the bs number..

Do you mean the numbers 2,3,4 which line up with the cable entry holes?
You rotate the lid to line up the holes with the numbers which indicate how many cable entries are used and how many are blocked off.

fiddly especially when fixed and cant fix if wiring first.

Why not join the club and use a wago box.
