No it not the 18th

The 17th edition is being amended and is due out this summer

Proposed changes

Measures against electromagnet disturances - new section 444
Devices for protection against overvoltage (surge protection) - new section 729
medical locations - new section 710
Operating or maintenance gangways - new sections 729
Model forms for certification and reporting - Appendix 6
Selection and erection of wiring systems - Chapter 52
Protection against electric shock - Chapter 41

The bad thing is a new book to buy and maybe another course to do

I have heard that if you do the the 2382-10 (long course) you will need to do an update but if you did the 16th update and have the 2382-20 its a four day course this time around

erm if no one needed to do another course when amendments came out for the 16th then we wont have to do another update when this BS amendment drops

No but the course number will be changed to reflect that it is now amended, when the 16th first came out and i took the exam it was 2380 then it changed to 2381 then again to 2382 for the 17th Edition

yes and job adverts will say "2383" required.....looks like they are adding bits on to try and copy the American wiring regulations for some reason, they have sections dedicated to Boat Electrical systems and Electric Vehicle Battery charging systems, is that next for here?
