Hello,

Have been asked to fit some garden LED light fittings, supply will be coming from fused spur, total load less than 1A. The customer wants a photocell switch fitted but also ability to override and manually switch on/off when desired.

Anyone dealt with this before, would you have any wiring diagrams, descriptions?

Many Thanks

Use a three position switch, one line to photocell, one to lights and third empty. So you have the option of the p/c operating the lights, a manual on and an off.

i would wire the photocell normally then wire a switch across the Lin and Lout of the photocell. or use 3core/E from spur, 3rd core to supply L to Lout on photocell via switch.

Don't some photocells have an override function built in? If you cycle the switch line on and off within five seconds they switch on permanently.

Thats the way I've always done it, works a treat. Sometimes people want manual on if they know they have friends coming over so leave the light on all the time.
