PowerSuite Pro Software Request 17th Edition Wanted

Hi
I have recently started my way into electrics and after buying an older megger 1553 it seems it is only the 16th edition version and not the 17th.

I have my serial number for the 16th edition which Megger told me would work with the 17th edition software but they want to charge me £169 for a CD ! I have very little money and cannot afford this.

Can anyone please let me know where I can download/loan a copy of the CD? I will pay expenses if anyone can help me out

Surely it's just a marketing ploy for you to get a newer device...? If it does all the same tests to the same standards, then surely it should be compliant with 17th Edition as well...

Like my Fluke 1652, it's not a 1652B "17th Edition Multifunction Tester" but it does the same tests and is fine!

Grrrr to those manufacturers and their marketing!

(Sorry, bit of a rant there.)

Many thanks for your reply. It does do all the 17th Edition tests however the software has built in templates which allows you to bluetooth the results directly into the certificates. The new software update allows for the new certificates which can then be printed out directly.
Its literally just a 380Mb file so they cannot really justify their costs.

I would have a chat with these guys about the software, they are very well connected with Megger and may well be able to help. They certainly did when I had problems with Powersuite:

didnt the 1553 come out after the 16th edition?

if you hold a lisence for the 16th then i guess you may have to bite the bullit and update to the 17th
