Discuss Problem with downlight in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have actually had the same problem with LAP I really don't think they are good quality what else could be causing it

I'm regretting buying lap the metal clips don't even hols in the fitting properly and seriously thinking of ripping them out and throwing them at the man at the screwfix desk. Plus the plastic housing at the back which holds the terminals in are cheap plastic

I have dimmable lap downlights I'm qualified and even I have flickering. Tried adjusting the potentiometer screw at the back of each gang aswell.

Even got this trailing edge dimmer

Retrotouch Trailing Edge Push Rotary LED Dimmer Switch 3G 1 / 2 W 600W Glass White / Chrome

Not buying lap again

Lap should be renamed Crap

What I'm saying is you have mains gu10 bulb operated that use no additional transformer and low voltage that use a separate transformer that drops it 12V from 230V and Mr16 bulbs.

Why you have to be so bloody pedantic

MR16 lamps are very often 240v. MR16 refers to the size of the multifaceted reflector, 16 eighths of an inch in diameter. Most GU10 lamps are in fact also MR16.

so by that token, LED bulbs/lamps cannot be classed as MR16 as they don't have multifaceted reflectors. :D
