I like osram, robus or bell. They all seem to do a good job, but more expensive though!

I had the same problem a few years ago previous company I worked for got some unbranded lamps changed lamps to branded ones problem solved.

Screwfix currently have 10 packs of Sylvania gu10's for £18.99, fitted about 50 now, none DOA

I have actually had the same problem with LAP I really don't think they are good quality what else could be causing it

I'm regretting buying lap the metal clips don't even hols in the fitting properly and seriously thinking of ripping them out and throwing them at the man at the screwfix desk. Plus the plastic housing at the back which holds the terminals in are cheap plastic

I have dimmable lap downlights I'm qualified and even I have flickering. Tried adjusting the potentiometer screw at the back of each gang aswell.

Even got this trailing edge dimmer

Not buying lap again

I know you say it is 230v but is the lamp 230v and not through a transformer.

I think he needs to know if it's mains voyage or low voltage gu10 bulbs are mains and have thicker pins than low voltage bulbs. He needs to check otherwise if it's the thin pins he needs a transformer otherwise his bulbs will pop lol

What I'm saying is you have mains gu10 bulb operated that use no additional transformer and low voltage that use a separate transformer that drops it 12V from 230V and Mr16 bulbs.

MR16 lamps are very often 240v. MR16 refers to the size of the multifaceted reflector, 16 eighths of an inch in diameter. Most GU10 lamps are in fact also MR16.
