I have just nipped across from the sparky forum and hoping for some advice, the boiler stopped working this morning however, long story short I have never had the burner out in the 3 years since it was installed and the prongs were coated in black crud a quick clean and it was back working, but on the bank of lights the DHW light is on constant its probably been like this for ever but I have only just noticed it as I had the cover and lid off and the light on the pump is lit too,so do I have another issue

Oil boilers should be cleaned and serviced annually. The HW light will usually be on all the time as most of these systems will be wired so the HW is always available. The pump will continue to operate after the burner has shut off for a while but should eventually stop once the hot water store is up to temperature and hot water is not being drawn off.
