Pyro damage on a lighting circuit

HI Good evening, I was called by a landlord yesterday asking for a check to be made on a pendant lamp as the light wasn't working. After talking to the tenant and digging around for information I learned a cowboy plasterer soaked all the wiring and 3 rooms out of 6 had no lights.
As this was a initial visit to determine what might be wrong I started a visual inspection at the exterior consumer unit. Here I discovered the flat is wired in Pyro ( one of my least favourite wiring systems). At this point the combination of water and Pyro started ringing the proverbial alarms bells.
After testing for voltage I discovered there was no voltage present in half the circuit and half the circuit was still energised and working.

Frowning I had a further chat with the tenant where she divulged the plastering had been completed 2 weeks previously and the 6A MCB kept tripping. The tenants solution to this was to keep turning on the MCB until a large spark blasted out the MCB> At this point I believe the wire in the Pyro acted as the fuse and burnt out at the point of moisture ingress. The pyro in embedded in the fabric of the building so re-placing will be neigh on impossible.

I have been booked in and paid to investigate where the fault lies and create a quote to rectify the damage.

Where I need some advice is re-placement of the circuit wiring. As i mentioned there is no access to the building structure, would there be any problems using FP200 or LSZH.

Where or who would be the best persons to ask concerning building regs like this: Building control?

i'd be round the plasterer's house with my hand out for a large wedge if i were that landlord.

Yourll have to take all fittings down etc and work out what is OK and what isn't.

Im guessing concrete floors/walls. A part rewire will be fun for you! :tongue3:

And make sure the land lord bills the plasterer.

Intresting quote, Pyro was,, No Is a great wiring system and if the pots are made off properly then no water should ingress into the magnesium oxide. so most likely its just a normal water into electrics problem at the exposed joints.
