Retail Lighting?

Hi,

I have to complete a project for college on lighting design in a supermarket. I am using Dialux to do this. My problem is most of the recessed lights that i am finding are too small and I end up with way too many lights. They are usually 600x600 in dimension. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer or light type for this application?

Hi,

Thanks for that but I've already tried them and the recessed lights they supply all seem to be too small.
I'm using a lux level of 500 for a supermarket.

Have a quick look on concord marlins website they have quite a good commercial range. Or Thorn

If the 600 x 600 are too small try 600 x 1200, , or a linear system, you say you want to aceive a lux level of 500 lux I assum this is at the working plane ( 1m from ffl )

Yeah,
A lux level of 500 on working plane is what i'm trying to achieve. Ok I will look for the 600x1200 version. What do you mean by a linear system?

It.s a recessed trough that takes 2x 6' fittings throughout its length,

Hey..why don't you search a company for manufacturers. You can go for good commercial lighting manufacturers which will provide you everything you want. These are especially designed for streets and outdoor lighting.
