Hi chaps,

a while back I picked up a DeWalt SDS.

It's a great bit of kit and even with cheap drill bits, it's not failed to get through anything I've tried it on.

I have noticed that it's been emitting grease from the air vents though... Oil from the chuck is understandable on an SDS, but wasn't sure about thick grease clogging things up.

I took the chuck assembly off the drill earlier and found that the shaft from the motor was completely coated in thick filthy grease, so cleaned a lot of it out.

Anyone else notice this with their SDS?

Is it new or off of a Internet auction site.

I'm old enough to have looked for a ' grease nipple' but there isn't one

it still spins but the hammer action is in cardiac arrest. I've kept it for spares...
