I have replaced my sky magic eye with with a new one as the old one had come apart. I have sky+ downstairs and two tvs running from it upstairs via coaxial cables and a booster all installed by tv company years ago. All was working fine until i changed the magic eye. When i plug it in to the tv/coaxial the little red light comes on. As soon as i press any button on the sky remote the red light goes off and nothing happens. I have tried a working one from the other bedroom and that works fine (its a different brand). This is the second replacement magic eye i have had surely they cant both be faulty.
it is strange the red light comes on an stays on until the remote is pressed.

Help

thanks

id double check you havent got any short outs in the co-ax cables first, but i assume its a specialised booster for the job as a standard booster may have problems with the signal voltage sent up from the sky box, you can always take the booster out and run one tv just to see if booster is failing, just a matter of trying different setups to locate problem, try you good magic eye on same tv you have the trouble with.If you using another brand of magic eye they may not be compatable with booster thats why i suggest taking it out of loop and see if it solves the problem.

the one i am using on the other tv which is working, and works on the tv with the problem one is a labgear digilink one which apparently is now obsolete. What I cant understand is how the labgear one works fine on both TV's. The other one has the red light on when connected to both tv's but when you try to use the remote the light goes off.
Bizzare
