What did you guys put for the three practical considerations before a periodic? ... And where the hell was the 1 over rt banker question!

Hi soren I said there may be people in the shop, there may be boats banging against the jetties and there may be bad weather!! All i could think of lol crapp answers, what did you put?

I just left it blank and came back to it and guessed at notifying the installation users, checking for signs of obvious dangers and check earthing system! I didn't really get the question to be honest as I was focused more on what I need to do as part of the test and record.

With the ir test isn't it best to just quote the test as in gn3? I.e. Make reference to removing any voltage sensitive equipment or link out where applicable and not leave out steps based on the fact your just testing the swa?

what an absoloute nightmare!

Also done it tonight and flew through the first twenty realy happpy and then read the scenario!

It was SO unclear! How many dbs were there? i went for three in the end, one main, one shower and one shop? I dont understand how city and guilds being that unclear shapes us any better to test by being able to second guess them!

Completely buggered up the q.26 i worked out the safe touch voltage came out with 500ma like others, left and realised like many it was a special location on additional protection so 30ma :-( guttted. Also messed up the i.r test, put to test at 500v dc with combined line and neutral. Do that and disconnect the cut out fuses. bugger.

Can someone remind me of the 6 big questions again? got the fault path but only showed one db and the met in that with cpc and main conductor to the electrode.

Really annoyed roll on june

Question specifically asked for IR test of SWA only so I didn't argue!, it also stated that the Columns were pre wired flex, that was to me another clue as to why the IR test stopes at the base of column

Rcd was it additional 30ma!, if so I'm chuffed as I thought I'd bollixed it up

Not Sockets
So you are correct about 500mA

Myself,

Put down disruption to the office area so work to be carried out of hours.
Disruption to the shop which could cause loss of trade so work carried out of hours again.
Inconvience working in the toilet/shower blocks so only carrying work out on one block at a time.

I can't remember what Q26 asked now, I definately put 30mA because it was for additional protection. Then the test procedure was quite a few marks so must have included 5 X IAn as someone said earlier then the last part of the Q quoted the max disconnection time of a TT as 0.2s so I said the BSEN should be replaced with a BS to match the 200ms max permitted disconnection time. Well you don't have to get them all right do you lol
