Hey

This may sound like a really stupid question but the jobs 40 miles away and i need to be sure!

Basicallyc ustomer has a decorative light fitting with 20 10 Watt g4 capsules lamps, the transformer has packed up and needs replacing , their is just one Pos and Neg at the base of the fitting, would this transformer be suitable?

Many thanks

yes , is there space in the light fitting for this to fit

dobtful. these fittings usually have a toroidal transformer. with halogen lamps 400watt rating of the transformer would be closer to the mark. get the customer to email you a pic. of the thransformer, showing any labels.

base is just deep enough to take the transformer ( its a big old light )! . Reason i asked is another spark told me today that these larger transformers come with 2 outputs which take 105va per output , which wouldnt be suitable in my case as theirs only one pos and neg

That will work fine make sure that they are 10 watt lamps, I have had a couple of transformers go where it says max 10 watts and the customers have put in 20 watts by mistake and overloaded the transformer
