Two way light switch Hall /Landing 2 vs 3 core wiring

3 core method is just so simple. switch wire from landing light to landing switch. 3 core from sw1 to sw2.

easiest way to do it. if you want to run 2 seperate lights, add a second 3 core, done

If it's a 2 way switch, (ie there's another switch which controls the same light) it sounds like he's used the earth as a live core, which IMO is unacceptable because the earth has a smaller CSA than the other cores and it relies on the outer sheath for electrical insulation when it's only intended to provide mechanical protection.
It might be worth getting someone to have a look at it.

It's not 3 core, it T&E, so no brown blue or green and yellow, just black and red. I think the E has been made into part of the circuit though so there's a third red.

Just wondering if you have metal switches that are not earthed the hole you are digging is getting deeper
