Wall mounting a TV on a fire-breast in the bedroom..
Doing this project as I’m off work for ½ term. I believe I’m competent to do the install and complete an minor works cert.

I have tested the Ring FC and it’s compliant, and will take the addition load which is only 40 watts.
What do you recommend for the fuses the calc suggest 1A fuse for the un-switched FCU that will be behind the telly.

Using 2.5 - 1.5 T&E all the way to the 3A fused outlet
Form the double .
From Floor to ceiling is 2.4 meters.

Why an FCU ? Surely the TV will come with a BS 1363 plug on it, why cut it off.
Why use the additonal cost of a any spurs? If as you say it is a ring final then your allowed a spur at each point. Just run a normal single/double socket to the TV in 2.5 cable

Is the existing ring RCD protected?

Thanks for your comments, The plug might make it stick out too much, and I want an accessible switch for isolation.

You have an FCU up the wall and an FCU at the TV, one of these is really redundant, there would be no need to fuse down until you reach the TV point as it will be a limited load by the TV FCU.
I would use a 3A fuse as these are readily available to the public and would avoid someone having to find a 1A BS1362 if it should fail.

I might be tempted to run the cable like the below diagram to avoid lifting the floors, however I am never sure if the safe zone wraps round a chimney breast. Your way is better though.

if the TV is in the bedroom, 10/1 it's loft space above.

The point of the 5A FCU is just to give me a switch I can get to. Can anyone suggest an alternative ?

fit a 20A D/P switch instead.

It's a long old chase, all the same :confused: hmm long and boring to cut.
It wouldn't give me a 80% rule breaching R1+R2 would it ?

The long chase was one reason (the other reason being logically scotched by Tel:stuart:) why I went for the round the corner chase, shorter but more difficult.
You could put a 3A FCU at the accessible switch position and just a flex outlet plate at the TV point if the TV point is never to be switched.
Since the load is so low and protected by a 3A BS1362 I doubt you would have R1+R2 problems unless that room is really large!
 
Thanks for your reply I'm doing it in two rooms double the 'fun', both are 14 Square metres, so not massive.

I would quote you but it just causes hassle, as I get the same thing; you can see who quoted you by going to your profile and clicking on the quotes tab.
Long winded but saves you getting logged out.
 
Update that's now installed in two rooms.
the cat5e and coax are left rewirable/upgradeable in oval conduit.
Can use mounting brackets just 18mm clearance from the wall LOL
