Hello everyone !!

i have studied EAL electrical/electronic diploma level 2 and 3 in college.
I rang up a training centre for the 17th edition who told me that all i need is the 17th edition for now
and the inspection and testing for better success with jobs.
i already have knowledge of inspection and testing and commissioning
i also need to get a cscs card and been told i cant get nvq's till im in paid work
what is the best plan for me ?

Welcome to the forum.

You will need your 17th Edition to prove you are up to date with the current regs.
Then look for electrician's mate work.
Whilst doing this work then you can get your NVQ3. NVQs require (in general) on the job assessment so do need you to be working, you also need a range of installations to demonstrate.
Have a look at the ECS card website as drexyn says and see if you can get a trainee card, an ECS card would give you more likelihood of being able to do electrical work rather than just labouring.

Initial verification and periodic inspection qualifications would help, but do need a good level of knowledge.

Work on site as a mate for 2-3 years learning the trade, then apply for your gold card after, your inexperienced and nowhere near electricians level yet.
