Hi im just looking for some advice on career & course options. 18 months ago i completed my NVQ level 3, 17th edition update and AM2. i passed with good grades but to be honest struggled with the course as i only worked on 12V - 24V systems servicing and repairing alarm systems, so not really gaining any relevant experience for the course or the job im hoping to be building a career in.
I have been thinking about going for my 2391 but was told on completing the course that there was no need as i am already qualified to certify my work. personally i think it is probably a good idea as ive heard its more in depth.
I have also been thinking of going for the 17th ed' full course cause the 17th only came out in the last couple of months of the nvq and we were practically spoon fed the update course so i never really learned much about the new regs and the changes from the 16th edition. i know it might be retracing my steps a little but at the minute i have nothing experience-wise to offer an employer.
What qualifications do i need to work my way to electrical technician or is it more experience based or does it require training in a particular field.
sorry for the endless questions im just a bit stumped.
any help and advice is appreciated
Thanks
Dean
