Here's the question nobody has asked yet..... Is the water supply pipe plastic?

Yes, but we still have a few who argue that even with the incomming supply in plastic, if the internal pipework is metallic, they still insist on installing protective bonding, even with testing to see first.

My personal preferance is to to any incoming services and install accordingly.

It would need testing in this instance to see if it introduces a potential, what gets me is when the incoming is plastic and the whole install is plastic yet some posts on here say that they would still insist on a small length of copper by the stop tap to bond to? Seems a pointless waste of copper to me

God (IET) knows,whatever they decide they're called these days,
Just green wires from pipes to the MET to me.

Thats a great thing to say to customers! It sounds expensive and worthwhile whereas just "bonding" sounds as if it should cost 10 shillings and is not important

If I said something like that to a customer, I would hope they would throw me out for being full of ****
