nice quality job
Hope that's a non ferrous gland plate
Lol, of course and isolated at one end.
I had to ask due to yesterday's thread no offence intended, yes nice neat job
An as for why the neutral is shorter. At a guess without seeing the make of the Tx, unless you have a 'K' rated transformer the neutral will not be 50% de rated.
Looks like Al.Hope that's a non ferrous gland plate
Granted with the tape but that was all that was available, lock rings were aluminium along with the gland itself the cables come straight from a duct just out of sight and the ground level gets raised to the same level as the concrete footing, the HV sides cables are installed the same way,
Previous contractor at the other end of the building on the original phase of the build installed exactly the same way, how would you brace the cables?
I would have suggested a unistrut frame bolted down to the concrete pad to take cleats bolted to zeb nuts. Be a gigantic faff about now they are all in though.

I've see a lot of transformers in my time working on hv equipment and I've never seen or heard of anyone supporting the cables for the 1.5m coming from the ground...
very nice job there mate but all hv sparks 've ever worked with have always used heatshrink on their 300/400/600 singles but each to their ownnd that in my book is a proper job there
Sexual? ....... So what you're trying to tell us is you have a toolshed in your garden stuffed full of large high-powered dildos ???

I use tape on large lugs, always have done and I thought your taping job was very neat. If the tape unwraps then it's either cheap rubbish tape or it wasn't put on properly.
tin of paint marvo lolI'v hunted high and low for gaffer tape in the harmonized colours but I can hell find it

Why would you fit banjos?Banjo's?
Banjo's?
Cossie read up on Eddie currents and you'll understand why they weren't fitted.
Jesus wept, AWA glands come with Ali lock nuts and Ali banjo's.... RoB2 obviously hasn't used them before....
Why in the name of god would you use banjos on a metal gland plate?
What purpose would they serve?
The transformer glands are quite adequately earth via the aluminium plate so no need for banjos, the switchgear end is in to an insulated gland plate. Having an earth at both ends would cause circulating currents.
I await your answer with interest.
the glands would have come with them and I'd have fitted them, personal preference or just habit I suppose.
.
depends. But to what end? What would be the advantage of fitting them?
It's like glanding an SWA onto galvanised trunking, you wouldn't fit a banjo then would you?
Doing something because it is just habit suggests a lack of thought or understanding of the job in hand.
I'm not suggesting anything.

Neat job, Heat shrink would have finished it off nicely.
