So i am a 66 year old still working in the electrical game,done 50 years work and despite a recent 4 months off due to illness,without work i was lost, to all you younger guys keep motivated in your career and a positive outlook.
So i would encourage you all to keep up to date with courses etc,there are a multitude of branches to this industry.
having said this i cant face the thought of doing my 18th edition,don't take in information to well these days.

Nothing needs to be memorised. Obviously it'll go more quickly if many answers are known from memory, but ultimately it's an exercise in using index and contents pages of regs book.
 
Seems like you could do with following your own advice! You can do it. It is not that hard nowadays with multiple choice questions answers. I did the 18th at 65 years so can't see age as a problem. If you are too lazy well... not much can be said about that.
