1kw system on new build

Hi all,
Just been asked to install a new system on a new build to satisfy building control.
I done my 2399 about 6months ago but am not yet mcs as looking for a job to do and then use for my assessment.
My question is am I allowed to do this job then use it for my assessment??
The client says they don't need an mcs certificate.

if clients says it's good to go, and you're competent then you've found your one for assessment.

btw once assessed you should be able to then register it I think, though there's some nonsense coming out about having to register it within a few weeks, so I'd not promise that to the client.
