2 questions from a novice?

Morning all!

Could someone please explain, or point me in the direction of sites to look at, regarding the azimuth angle? I've read thhat it's the angle measured from North, but using Sunny Design (new to that too!) gives the measurement from South. It's probably me, and I'm sure it'll be simple once it's confirmed!

More technical now! RCD's for solar pv installs? Where can I find the information I need in order to understand whatever I need to understand?

I'm a spark, but have never needed to know much about the various types of rcd available - until now!

I know nothing about RCDs, but I can tell you about Azimuth.
This is formally the angle measured clockwise from north - so north is zero, east is 90deg, south 180, and west is 270. This is true for everyone except PV people. In this industry it is normally measured from due south (zero) and going counter-clockwise (east of south) is a minus angle and going west is a plus angle. So 135deg azimuth (or -45deg to PV wizards) is South-East. Hope this helps.
I've used Sunny Design - seems to give the right answers as far as I can see. But UK locations are few and far between, and apparently no way to add specific locations by entering postcode or Lat/Long etc. And no facility for modelling the effect of a tracker. But good at matching panels, inverter and cables etc. As you might expect from an inverter supplier - and it's free.
