Hi just fitting an Ikea double oven with total rating of 5100w, there's a 15m distance from oven to CU and its clipped directly to the wall but is Laid by some ring main cables for only a short distance to the consumer unit...my calculations suggest 4mm cable with 22.17amps, so I was going to use 4mm connected to a 32a mcb.

Anyone suggest an alternative

Is there any insulation involved over the length of the cable run?

Will the DP isolation switch also have a socket outlet?

I would use 6mm tbh as a minimum for a cooker circuit, although there is sometimes not the need as 4mm is sufficient for the loading

agreed. i would install 6mm cable. if only to allow for the getting a bigger cooker in the future. still put it on a 32A.

Brilliant chaps thank u, and no to insulation just clipped on a wall and laid on some cables before it enters the consumer unit...and yes I was going to use a 45a DP cooker switch
