next minute ,some people will say it does not comply !You're thinking of the older ELCB that measured the voltage on the earth. This one clearly states its current operated. i.e. an RCD.

The difference put simply is an an ELCB is a voltage sensing device and an RCD is a current sensing device. ELCBs were discontinued many years ago. RCDs are better devices. Besides all that, a new CCU should have been recommended anyway.The difference being???

They are not necessarily the same thing. Older types of ELCBs were voltage operated. However, my mistake on this one; it does state current operated.ELCB and RCD are the same device.
