Section 7.5.2 OSG (red) covers smoke alarms but I am unable to find any reference to the requirements (if any) for fitting carbon monoxide detectors.
House refurb opening up a chimney for a wood burner.

They're often requested as mandatory by LBC at planning stage on new builds, but not aware of a refurb requirement. Eic make them to fit the rest of the range so you can fit them to interlink with the smokes, only a few quid and well worth it - read the gas fitter thread I posted up earlier!!

Thanks for the helpful quick replies.
I know it is common sense hence the question. The part J link was especially interesting but a bit wooly as it says 'should' be installed. I was hoping for a 'must' which I could show my customer.

I'd treat it as 'regulation speak' for 'must'.
