CAT 7 problems

Recently finished 1st fix, carried out some tests just to give us an idea of possible problems and a lot of the CAT 7s are failing due to twist ratios. CAT 6s are passing fine, any advice or similar experiences ?

What tester are you using, Fluke DTX?
What test standard are you testing too?
Cat 7 should only be used with GG45 connectors if you want Cat 7 performance.
What are your failed results failing on, NEXT?
What make of cable, outlets and patch panels are you using?
Why are you using Cat 7? It is not ratified yet, so in theory there is no test standard. Please don't say future proofing...

I install Cat 7 Nexans Marine on Oil Platforms and Vessels, but terminate it with Cat 6A connectors and then test it to EN11801 Class Ea (cat 6a). Clients ask for Cat 7, but don't have a clue what it will give them.

It's on a new prison build in Australia so blame the government for wanting the CAT 7 lol, yeah it's a fluke DTX 1800. Seems to be the jacks at this point in time as after abit of investigation a little tweak in the jacks were going from pass to fail so easily. TE connectivity/AMP are the product being used.

TE are a good make, although AMP are their budget range. Terminations have to be spot on for this, keep cable bend radius within spec, and don't use undue force pulling them in. What Standard are you testing to?

after testing cat 6 have you changed from class E to class F and reset the referance, just a thought , have you selected cat7 as well as class F and selected the correct NVP %, Siemon would ask us to change the NVP to 68% when testing their cat6 cable. Another thought could be other contractors especially the security guys who think the catinary wires you have spend all week fitting and looming with velcro deserve all their cables on as well with some nice tight cable ties, cut many the security cables off our looms. Have you set the test limits at ISO 11801.
