Family been sparkies for 50 years, doing electrical work maintenance call outs for business for 30years, Installing solar for 2 years in this time been shouting about to remind old and new customers that we can install SOLAR PV.
Just found out above business gave away 175kw to another installer. Dun deal ive been told. Not even a chance to quote,

Do you mean you have been overlooked for a job by company you thought you were in bed with? If so obviously it stinks but isnt it a reminder not to get too cosy in business?

What is the other company like , are they contractors like yourself or purely solar , do you think they will be here this time next year !?

Lost one last year , not a existing costumer but he was in the next village along to a existing estate customer that we were installing a 80 odd KW system on one of their grain store's , he had called in and spoke to the roofers we were using and asked for me to call in and see him .
So i called in a day or so latter and introduced myself only to be told ( some what snottily ) that the company doing that job had called yesterday and already quoted !?????
Turned out to be a chap who was meant to be doing our IT was well and truly in bed with another solar company that i helped get NIC msc for as a favour to him !
We never got the job , but knew that they would be gone when the going got though ( I believe they folded in January ) , i now can not wait for that phone call for help !!!

Spoke to guy who passed on the 150kw to another installer today , he just rubbed more salt into the wounds, said it was bigger, then said i could have a 30kw on an cement fibre roof 1980's hope its cement fibre,
stills hurts now. 20 years of putting up with his crap and gives it to someone else

Are you employed by this guy or do you work for yourself?

If you work for yourself you need to start acting like it I'm afraid. This guy owes you nothing and you need to start working to get the work from him.

We all have our down days, most of us in the PV industry have had a few recently but you will only improve on it if you get out there and actively market yourself.

Positive thinking makes a huge difference my friend

somecamel, Long story, i own the company, just that we taken all the crap from him to provide a good reliable service 24hr callouts, next day installs to keep them on side waiting for the golden egg and he gives it away, would of put us on the map in our area with this one.

Look at it as learning, what he does you can do and as Somecamel says ..get out there and actively market yourself.
