Hi new to this..go easy on me. Times just out, just want to know what your take on this is. Friends wanting to get their house tested, but I’ve noticed his cooker comes off the kitchen ring, would his test fails because of this?? Like a said I’ve just past my test so not 100% sure on this, I’m not sure of the load on the cooker

Depends on the rating of the cooker.

i was going to suggest clamping a tail with as much as possible in the house off or unplugged. note current, then switch on cooker as max. as possible. note current in tail. subtract previous reading, then he'll know roughly the current draw of the cooker.

A lot of new cookers have relatively small current draw and some can actually be fitted with a 13a plug top. Best to check rating of cooker first.

Assuming you mean an EICR then no it will not 'fail' the outcomes of an EICR are limited to either 'satisfactory' or 'unsatisfactory' there is no pass or fail.
The R in EICR stands for Report because it is just that, a report, it is not an exam or anything like that.

If this cooker is drawing more than 13A from a single point in the ring or causing an overloading on one 'leg' of the ring then you may consider it to be something worth a C3 code or in extreme cases a C2.
