Hi Guys
Ive got a large outdoor floodlight which has no marking on the casing the only markings are on the ballest which says for 400 watt metal halide and 400w mercury vapour lighting. So i put a 400w metal halide tube in it turned it on just on a plug in my garage to test it before i put it up. left the cover open and it started light up got nice and bright when the lamp started smoking light stayed on. So i thought maybe it was the wrong lamp so i put a 400w SON and that did the same. Then tried a 250 Metal halide and that also did it after about 30 seconds of being on. Im a little confused any advice is greatly apprechiated.
