electric ufh install

As there are so many “different ways to skin a cat” in our industry, I thought I would post the below to see if anyone has anything they would like to share on a job I have coming up

60m2 ish of electric under floor heating split into 3 zones and also on 3 stats (stats can only switch a max of 16a unless you install contactors etc) zone 1 is kitchen, Zone 2 is hallway and zone 3 is bathroom total loading around 9kw / 37a

I am thinking it’s probably best to run a separate radial for both kitchen and hallway from the CU given the fact these are the largest areas and can probably only fit 2.5mm into back of stats etc and then probably pinch a feed from the ring via an FCU for the bathroom

Like I said, there are many different ways to do it but just thought I’d throw up a post whilst I was online. Haven’t really given the job much thought as yet.

Continuous loads over 2kW (such as UFH) are recommended to be be on their own circuit's.
Depending on the bathroom load it may need it's own circuit, but also ensure it has an earth screen and 30mA RCD protection.

Own circuit seems a better idea to me yes. Earth screen if needed with the type of UFH fitted. Daz

Also,depending what stats you select,check the type and maximum load they are suitable for. Some state 16A,but this is a maximum,and in my experience,certain types fail prematurely,when operating near their upper limits.
