Hi all. I've purchased a ceiling light. It has a very long power cable and an adjustable steel cable to suit the height you want it set at. My question I need the light to hang at half the cable length. Rather than cutting the power cable to length, can I just feed the excess cable into the metal ceiling plate and coil the excess cable in there? Just conscious coiled cables cause heat?
