Fake JIB Cards and City & Guilds Qualifications

Today we have been contacted by another company based in Essex who in the past we have supplied subcontract work to.

They employed a "fake" spark in May this year who's qualifications and JIB card were high quality fakes.

The company who employ a moderate amount of staff, know what a real JIB card and C&G Certs look like were taken in.
The JIB card was a "top notch" fake compete with hologram (It's probably better quality than mine then... Think the JIB ran out of colour ink when printing mine!!)

I've seen a scanned copy of the JIB card and I would have said it was REAL.

I'm not too sure on the C & G certs as they weren't attached to the email, but we got the impression after my boss had a chat with the company owner they were older style (Typewriter font) certificates.

He only got rumbled because he DID NOT HAVE A CLUE. They gave him a few weeks to settle in, but it was obvious that he'd "not even done a 5 day course".


Just be aware of the VERY GOOD QUALITY FAKES out there!!

I was trying to be upto to date .................yes ok it was red but still I labelled it all correctly !!! and I put in the little arrows showing the direction, so ok I got protection device mixed up with nail, and transformer winding mixed up with phone charger , but it looked good

Just coppying values from old schedule of tests IQ. Apparenty it went on a lot with "contractors" rewireing council stock at one time....maybe it still does? There was a guy on here a while backinvolved in doing this type of work saying they were expected to inspect and test 4 YES THATS 4 houses per day and the "inspector and tester" was a 17 year old just coppying values down.......scandelous!

I remember seeing the post and another one that was testing bookies shops, his colleague apparently 'tested' a few shops but the client hadn't handed the keys over so no access had been granted!!!

This is why mini assessments at interviews and inductions should be more enforced.

I don't see why more companies don't do this as well. My firm did. I came bottom - explains why I got the job...........

i'd love to know what finally happened, what rumbled the guy? did he go through 10 sets of ct's in a week all blown to bits?!

I always thought when getting a job its not what you know but who you know. Or the interviewer wants to know how you will fit into the existing team.

There's a bit more to my selection process than "who do you know"

Anyone using that criteria as interview questions for selecting competent persons won't be lasting long in this business.
