My wife phoned npower today to check the status of our FIT application.
The guy said our contract was sent out 2 weeks ago although we only sent the form 2 & a half weeks ago.
When my wife said we hadn't received it, the guy emailed us another copy and said we still had 10 days to return it (phew).
Just thought I should let people know in case you were told it would take a month like we were.
Might be worth giving them a ring if your still waiting.

For Anyone Expecting Sense from npower

I can confirm that telephoning npower is the best way to find out what is going on.

Our system was installed at the end of November 2011 and our FIT application was signed and sent on the 30th. Receipt was confimed in a letter from npower dated 6th December.
We received notification that our system was accredited and eligible for FIT payments in an email from npower dated 24th January 2012. We returned the signed copy of their terms and conditions and received a letter dated 2nd February confirming that our FIT account was activated and explaining how to submit "Meter Reads" by mail , phone or email.
On 26th February, we received a letter dated 22nd February requesting completion by "Friday 24th February" of a "Vendor Review" form for RWE Procurement. By providing our bank details, this would enable the new computer system to make payments into our bank. We completed and returned this immediately.
Having provided bank details, we sent our first meter reading by email on the 1st March and received an automatic email acknowledgement from npower.
On 16th March we received a letter dated 24th February requesting our March meter reading plus a request to review the information held by them about us and our system.
We emailed to express our concern at the delay in the letter's arrival and the request for information already supplied. This we followed with a phone call and were reassured that npower already had our reading which was being processed and no further action was required by us. It was astandard letter sent to "everyone".
We realise that the npower FIT Team have probably been overwhelmed by applications since the government imposed their illegal deadline of 12th December 2011, but hope that npower can develop their systems before we get buried in a mountain of paper.

Best regards to fellow sufferers.

Like you say, they were probably swamped prior to the March 3rd deadline but they should be recovering from that by now hopefully.
We were told we to send a reading between the 1st & 25th March but others have been told the 31st.
Havent had any forms for getting paid into the bank yet.

npower told me on the phone there had sent out T&C for me to sign on the 13th march i rang on the 20th as had not heard out since i filled out another form with my bank details on that was 29th feb so instead of them posting T&C again as must have got lost in the post as not got thro the post by the 20th so asked them to email me them there sent email on the 23rd march so printed of myself and sent back on the 26th,found it quicker and better just to phone them as writing or emailing them seems to take for ever to get a reply

We got a letter the other day saying they've received our signed contract and that our FIT account is now activated. Happy days !
The letter also said to send meter readings between the 1st and 25th of the month in March, June, September and December.

so is it every 3 months then as 13th april will be my third month as 13th jan was my start day

I'm sure that the FiT registration teams at utility companies are as fed-up about the solar boom/bust waves as the installers.

Solar PV has gone from 1000 registrations per week in summer 2011, to 3000 per week by autumn, to 25000 per week in December, to 500 per week in January, to 15000 per week in March, to 500 per week again now.

Do they take on more staff, only to have to lay them all off again as son as they've trained them to process FiT applications?
It's all madness. The solution: a clear and progressive policy from the government, rather than sudden sharp adjustments.
