tape measure set square ink marker hacksaw junior hack saw good sence of humor good ears for listening big bag of biccies for tea time chokkie cake for the gaffer Nice big pressy for your mum off your first wage ( she has supported you for years show your appreciation) a BIG gob for asking what you may think are stoopid questions ( Theres no such thing ) to prevent stoopid mistakes

Good to hear of a youngster getting a start there is loads of advice and stuff in the forum read and dont be affraid to ask Good luck

:Dcheers for that bud got some very gd points there lol:D. What hacksaws would u recomend ?

Check out ebay and the like as some good tool shops advertise on there, you might be able to pick up a bag full of tools for x amount

ask around local wholesalers, toolstores even try online some MAY give you a small discount or offer you a sort of "Cristmass club " whereby you can put money aside everyweek and build up your kit that way rather than a one off you never know your new gaffer may have a helpfull wholesaler as he will spend a few quid with them they may help you out Dont rush out and buy to much before starting tho

When do you start btw?

Xheers for the advice pal.
Hopefully next week just gotta wait for a health an safety meeting an get mr Ppe

If you are starting with a company explain what you already have, then ask what they would recommend for their line of work. I was given £200 by my parents to get a few tools to start with. Then once that once spent I decided that with each weekly wage I would buy one tool off a list given to me by my boss.

Even today, 15 years on I am still buying tools I never though were needed but find useful now I do have them.

Try to avoid the buy now pay later....snap on etc, becomes a big trap, save and as suggested ebay etc.

Buy sensible until you can afford to buy irazzola screwdrivers, that were rubbish and ended up inserted into the salesmans rectum.
