How to remove plaster dust

I worked in a house about 5 years ago where the plasterers got plaster all over the new oak sills and staircase, stained the woodwork badly.

Are they pine floorboards or other? I just use a scraper to take off any lumps and mop up a couple of times then go over the floor with a proprietary wood floor cleaner. You would never know there was plaster on it when I am finished. Same with tiles especially quarry tiles, wash off a couple of times, finish with a beeswax polish.
